Hello, this is Mr.I of Shizuka Co., Ltd..
In this article, I would like to introduce about sound absorption / soundproofing measures of a window.
※original article in Japanese (日本語の記事)
Window is hard to countermeasure with sound absorbing measure in your room. In addition to reflecting the sound of the glass, as you raise the volume of the audio, the sound will resonate and ruin the environment where you can enjoy music. This time, our customer installed our acoustic panel “SHIZUKA Stillness Panel(SSP)” in the window, adjusted the sound absorption and deep bass in the room, and prevented the noise from the outside.
Although SSP has 8 kg per square meter, consideration is required from the viewpoint of ease of removal, installation anxiety when falling, wind influence and safety, which will actually be installed in the window. Install a grid on the window frame on the interior side so that the panel does not fall over. Also, to make it easier to remove the panel, divide it into half of the normal size to reduce the weight, and attached the handle. By attaching more powerful magnets to the top and bottom of the panel, we made it impossible to remove it unless it is by the hand of man. Thanks to the sound absorption / sound insulation panel, it is possible to adjust the reverberation tone of deep bass, as it is hard to leak out even if the volume of the audio is raised.
Although it is common to use curtains to absorb windows, sound absorption performance is limited. Also, when using double windows, since the sound insulation performance only, internal reactions worsen. When you consider attaching the sound absorbing sponge or glass wool material to the window, dew condensation may cause deformation or deterioration due to ultraviolet rays.
Since SSP can be installed in every part of the indoor environment, it is recommended for high end audio users by all means.
