I would like to review the impression of using “SHIZUKA Stillness Panel” at my home.

The audio I am using is ONKYO’s NFR-7X. The output of the bass is weak, but enough sound is produced in the room where the soundproofing equipment is not solid.

Got ready by setting “SHIZUKA Stillness Panel” right behind the speaker. (Since it is said that behind the speaker is easy to collect bass, there is an effect when putting sound absorbing material)

First I tried listening to John Coltrane’s “Blue Train”, the royal road of modern JAZZ by CD. I did not care so much, but was the bass still behind in the back? I can not express well in words, but I felt a clear change. I heard the balance of the whole sound well by sharpness of the base of Chambers.

Next I listened to the rock ‘s masterpiece, “Rubber Soul” from The Beatles on record. The player is DENON’s dp-29f. ※ Receiver / speaker is ONKYO’s NFR-7X. As you can expect, I can hear Paul McCartney’s bass distorted by fuzz, so it’s easier to understand the effect. There is also an influence, the singing voice is easy to hear. I realized the effect of not disturbing the bass and distinguishing other sounds.

I thought that the sound source with overlapping complex sounds may be easier to understand the sound absorption effect of the panel. So, lastly I tried Steve Reich’s “Different Trains”. It seems that the string quartet is superimposed and superimposed live while streaming the talking voice, the sound of the train, the siren and the string quartet with the tape, it is the music which the sound is intertwined complicatedly. It is a genre called so-called Minimal Music.

As a result, Reich was the easiest to understand the change by panel. It is a feeling that contours are created in all sound images, and each sound rises like every other sound source. On the contrary, when I heard it by removing “SHIZUKA Stillness Panel”, I felt a feeling of incongruity that had become anxious up to now.

I am not an audio mania, so I do not have a subwoofer attached (complaints may come from my neighbors if I do this). It might be easier to understand if you emphasize the bass more.

Please try the feeling of “SHIZUKA Stillness Panel”, you can feel the change even with the ears of an amateur like me.
